Hi everyone,
So i had a few problems with the battle.net launcher since the new patch is launched.
The first problem is fixed now, this was the crashing of the battle.net agent.
Now i can download the new patch, but im getting a very slow download speed, down to 0b/s.
I already tried a few things, port forwarding, unchecked the box in the lan settings, checked for the bandwidth settings and the peer to peer is off.
Anyone has another solution for this problem? It is getting pretty frustrating.
I tried and download a steam game and this goes with a min of 4 mb/s so it isnt an internet issue i guess..

You could be having the same problem I have.
When the battlenet app is open then open task manager. Check your bandwidth useage in the networking tab. See if it's maxed out (for your connection speed). Close the battlenet app and wait for ~30 seconds. See if your bandwidth useage is still at max. If it is go to Processes tab and see if agent.exe is running. If it is then voila, there's your problem. That's the program responsible for downloading everything battlenet related but for some reason it's eating all bandwidth even when it isn't supposed to.
I'm afraid I don't have a solution to this but atleast you can identify the problem (if it is the update agent in your case that is).

Exact same problem here. its sometimes around 20kb then 500 bytes then stuck at zero for ages... i have about 100 mb/s down, 30 mb/s up... so? i mean it would literally take weeks unless there is a fix or the issue is resolved. and i don't think its agent.exe. I also tried turning peer-to-peer off/on and restarting aswell as changing the download speed from unlimited to different numbers... no change.

Its getting so frustrating, especially when you already tried all those things and its still not working.

Has been stuck at 0 kb/s all day... not sure what the issue is most ppl on my friends list are logged in. I hope this is not an ignored issue though. It would be nice to play sometime this week...

having the same problem. Just got my computer going after 2 days of crash. Exited to start up wow today and play some, but NOPE.

Hmm ... Been reading posts from a few
days ago and think this may be linked to the 'select language' issue. Am gonna try to change language in the launcher to German an see if that works. Will let u know!

I found a fix from the U.S Forums
Open internet options (can find it by searching in the start menu)
Go to connections tab
Click Lan Settings
Uncheck 'automatically detect settings'
I recommend RE-checking that box when the download is complete though!!
Kind of a weird fix, but it worked for me and many others.

Changing language from German didn't work for me, but downloading the U.S. version of the installer from battle net did ( hopefully). Just need to change back to eu once done

What can be a problem
Im downloading HS right now with speed 3MB/s constans
WoW is downloading about 100KB/s ...... so it will took more than 4 days long downloading

I had this exact problem. When I spoke to tech support they had no fix for it. They advised me try deselecting automatically detect settings but it didn't work. It eventually managed to go to playable and when logged in it downloaded a lot faster.

I had to log on to my router and then restore it to download at decent speed but had to do it about 7 times on a large update because it kept resetting.
Still haven't resolved my problems in game, which keep getting removed from instances (Instance not found) problem

This worked perfectly for me. At first it was downloading at around 0 - 10 kB/s. I followed the instructions above, then went back to the battle.net client window and saw that the speed was heading for max ( 10 MB/s ).

This worked for me, starting to download WoW again as I haven't played for a few years.
This solved the issue in January 2015.

battle.net/support/en/article/disabling-proxy-settings
It shoudl be safe to leave these settings, you should not need to re-enable them, unless you see other abberations with your network connection.
